Saifee expedition, October 1999
Nothing changes the scenery like a little snow does. Everything was
white, there was around 8 inches of snow when we
started moving and it was easy going. It was a new experience for most
of us and everybody was enjoying the walk. Govind was leading the group
and he had to check each step with his axe to feel for crevasses which
can be very deep
sometimes. Wherever we had to go over a crevasse Govind would draw
an X with his axe, and we had to be lithe, careful
and quick over those spots.
