Saifee expedition, October 1999
The climb to Tapovan was the last rite for the trekking group which
had decided to return the next day to Gangotri, but
was the beginning of the excruciating journey for the expedition members.
Silence, irritability, lack of humour and fatigue
were to become a part of the day, as we later found out.
