Saifee expedition, October 1999
Despite the water being ice cold, there were a few people like Shrikrishnan
and Ganesan, who wanted to take a bath in the river. Andy thought it was
some Indian ritual and tried to follow suit but realised his mistake just
in time.The glacier itself is not a very safe place to stay at since the
rocks are continually moving and sliding and Pooran Singh was very critical
of people like me who wanted a view from top of the glacier. I had to give
up the idea of the photo because:
i) Pooran Singh was bigger than me.
ii) He was in charge of the food supply.
